These ancient European folk tales were transcribed from local storytellers by the Grimm brothers in the early 19th century.
Several editions were published from 1812 to 1857, and the latest (seventh edition) contained the 211 tales listed below.
They are from Margarate Hunt's 1844 translation into English and the approximate narration time is given for each story.
