The Apocrypha

also known as Deuterocanonical Books

The Apocrypha is a collection of ancient texts that are included in the Old Testament of Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Bibles, but are not part of the Jewish or Protestant canons and not originally part of the Hebrew Bible.

In Catholic and Orthodox Christianity the collection is often referred to as the Deuterocanonical Books, which means "second canon", signifying that they are recognized as part of the biblical canon.
