Embless churches

What does "embless" mean?

Just as the prefix "em" changes the noun "power" to the verb "empower", meaning to bestow power on somebody, "embless" could mean that somebody has been given a blessing. But we already have a verb for that — "To bless".

On this page we list some of the world's major Christian churches that have no identity emblem, other than the obvious cross. These churches are emblem-less, or to coin our new word, embless. This new word could catch on.

But we doubt it.
