Perversity

Proverbs regarding back talk, brazenness, confrontation, contrariness, defiance, disobedience, effrontery, frowardness, impudence, insolence, insubordination, insurgency, intractableness, opposition, perversity, rebellion, recalcitrance.

The King James version uses the archaic word 'froward', which can easily be confused with 'foreward'.


  1. Discretion will protect you, understanding will guard you,
    to deliver you from the way of the wicked, from those speaking perversity,
    who leave the upright paths to walk on the dark ways,
    who delight in doing evil, they rejoice in perverse evil;
