Psalms

The fifth book of Psalms, song 128, New English Translation and King James Version

Psalm 128

New English Translation

   A song of ascents.
1 How blessed is every one of the LORD's loyal followers, each one who keeps his commands!
2 You will eat what you worked so hard to grow. You will be blessed and secure.
3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine in the inner rooms of your house; your children will be like olive branches, as they sit all around your table.
4 Yes indeed, the man who fears the LORD will be blessed in this way.
5 May the LORD bless you from Zion, that you might see Jerusalem prosper all the days of your life,
6 and that you might see your grandchildren. May Israel experience peace!

King James Version

   A Song of degrees.
1 Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
2 For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
3 Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
4 Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.
5 The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
6 Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.
