This was Jane Austen's first novel to be published. The story is set in Wessex and beyond in the late 18^th century. Elinor Dashwood and her younger sister Marianne move to a humble cottage belonging to a distant relative. Here they find love, and as is common with romantic fiction, heartbreak.
