Church emblems, sans cross
As you can see from the page of church emblems, some churches make the cross a dominant feature, some are inexplicably tiny, and others appear to disguise it. And many churches, even large Christian denominations, do not include a cross in their logo at all. Some of the main ones are listed below.
- American Baptist Association have a logo of the world, a Bible and the initials of the church.
- Apostolic Church have a logo of three blue leaves, representing the Holy Trinity, arranged so that they resemble a dove.
- Assemblies of God use simply "AG", or an image of the world - something a secular humanist society might use.
- Association of Vineyard Churches logo consists of spirals in the US, representing a vine, and roundels in the UK, representing grapes.
- Baptist Bible Fellowship International emblem features a globe encircled by a blue line and a yellow line, looking rather like a logo for an international airline.
- Baptist General Association of Virginia emblem features a dove inside a purple bubble; purple being the traditional colour of Majesty.
- Baptist Missionary Association of America emblem has the acronym BMAA between purple crab claws
- Brazilian Baptist Convention base their logo on the colours of the Brazillian national flag but instead of the flag's Southern Cross, the logo shows the Fish symbol.
- Calvary Chapel prefer their emblem to be an image of a descending dove, which looks curiously similar to the map of Texas.
- Christadelphians, denying the cross, show a globe on an open book.
- Church of Denmark has no logo other than the stylised font of its name. But being the state church, the cross in the flag of Denmark makes any additional logo superfluous.
- Church of God (Anderson, Indiana) logo has three flames (blue, red and orange)
- Church of God in Christ logo features a wheat sheave.
- Churches of Christ are the umbrella group of a number of churches internationally and their logo is a globe.
- Church of the Nazarene is a Methodist denomination and its logo shows a flame, a descending dove and a Bible.
- Cooperative Baptist Fellowship logo is quite unique. No cross, no bible, no dove, no baptism scallop shell... Just a blue twriling ribbon.
- Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim & Seraphim have their two angels either side of a globe.
- Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Slovakia have simply adopted the Lutheran Rose.
- Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hungary cleverly show the leading "e" of "Evangelical" as a Fish symbol.
- God is Love Pentecostal Church (Igreja Pentecostal Deus é Amor logo features a rainbow over the denomination's name
- Iglesia ni Cristo logo in use since 1919 and features many masonic symbols. However, unlike the founders of the Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, etc., there is no evidence that their founder, Felix Manalo, was a Freemason.
- International Circle of Faith use a globe, emphasizing the world mission and international spread of the denomination.
- Javanese Christian Churches have a dove with outstretched wings for their logo.
- Jehovah's Witnesses, denying the cross, show a crenelled tower.
- Kimbanguist Church logo is the founding prophet's name.
- Mennonites have various logos, most of which feature a dove.
- National Baptist Convention of America, Inc. overlay a map of the US with their acronym "NBAC".
- National Baptist Convention of Brazil (Convencao Batista Nacional) have an apocalyptic image of the world on fire.
- National Primitive Baptist Convention of the USA logo and website under development.
- Nederduits Gereformeerde Kerk (Dutch Reformed Church) logo shows a dove descending beneath a seven-branched candle-stand.
- Old Believers have no logo but use the Eastern Orthodox Cross extensively.
- Presbyterian Church of Brazil Igreja Presbiteriana do Brasil logo shows a descending dove in a burning bush
- Presbyterian Church in Canada uses a burning bush as its logo
- Presbyterian Church in Taiwan uses a burning bush as its logo
- Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea uses a blue and purple design with no obvious religious meaning.
- Presbyterian Church of Nigeria logo features a burning bush, a dove and a palm tree.
- Progressive National Baptist Convention an open book in the shape of a shield, superimposed over a globe.
- Protestant Church in the Moluccas (Gereja Protestan Maluku) logo features an image of farmers with the reference to 1 Cor. 3:6: "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase."
- Reformed Church in Zambia logo includes a white torch within a blue shield.
- Salvation Army used to have a cross in their main logo, but now prefer to emphasise the organisation's name.
- True Jesus Church logo features a dove
- Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), unlike the Kiev Patriarchate above, has no logo.
- Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus) logo shows a white dove within a red heart
- Waldensian Church logo shows a burning candle on a Bible, surrounded by seven small stars
