Prayer over the Gifts

  1. For several martyrs, outside the Easter Season

    Father, receive the gifts we bring in memory of your holy martyrs. Keep us strong in our faith and in our witness to you. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  2. For several martyrs, outside the Easter Season

    Lord, accept the gifts we bring to celebrate the feast of your martyrs. May this sacrifice free us from sin and make our service pleasing to you. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  3. For several martyrs, outside the Easter Season

    Lord, accept the gifts of your people as we honor the suffering and death of your martyrs   and  . As the Eucharist gave them strength in persecution, may it keep us faithful in every difficulty. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  4. For several martyrs, outside the Easter Season

    Lord, you gave Saints   and   the fulfillment of their faith in the vision of your glory. May the gifts we bring to honor their memory gain us your pardon and peace. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen.

  5. For several martyrs, outside the Easter Season

    Lord, be pleased with the gifts we bring. May we who celebrate the mystery of the passion of your Son make this mystery part of our lives by the inspiration of the martyrs   and   Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

    Or this:

    Lord, may these gifts which we bring you in sacrifice to celebrate the victory of Saints   and   fill our hearts with your love, and prepare us for the reward you promise to those who are faithful. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen.

  6. For one martyr, outside the Easter Season

    Lord, bless our offerings and make them holy. May these Gifts fill our hearts with the love which gave Saint   victory over all his suffering. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

    Or this:

    Lord, accept the gifts we offer in memory of the martyr   May they be pleasing to you, as was the shedding of his blood for the faith. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  7. For one martyr, outside the Easter Season

    God of love, pour out your blessing on our gifts; and make our faith strong, the faith which Saint   professed by shedding his blood. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

    Or this:

    Lord, accept these gifts we present in memory of Saint  , for no temptation could turn him away from you. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  8. For several martyrs, in the Easter Season

    Lord, we celebrate the death of your holy martyrs. May we offer the sacrifice which gives all martyrdom its meaning. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  9. For several martyrs, in the Easter Season

    Lord, fill these gifts with the blessing of your Holy Spirit, and fill our hearts with the love which gave victory to Saints   and   in dying for the faith. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  10. For one martyr, in the Easter Season

    Lord, accept this offering of praise and peace in memory of your martyr   May it bring us your forgiveness, and inspire us to give you thanks now and for ever. Grant this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen.

  11. For missionary martyrs

    Lord, at this celebration of the Eucharist we honor the suffering and death of your martyrs   and   In offering this sacrifice may we proclaim the death of your Son, who gave these martyrs courage not only by his words, but also by the example of his own passion; for he is Lord for ever and ever. Amen.

  12. For a Virgin Martyr

    Lord, receive our gifts as you accepted the suffering and death of Saint  , in whose honor we celebrate this Eucharist. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  13. For a Holy Woman Martyr

    Lord, today we offer this sacrifice in joy as we recall the victory of Saint   May we proclaim to others the great things you have done for us, and rejoice in the constant help of your martyr's prayers. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
